Global digital pathology market to grow by $1.12b until 2028

However, it is challenged by concerns about data safety and security.

The global market for digital pathology is expected to grow by $1.12b until 2028 at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of almost 16.98%, according to Technavio.

The report revealed that the market was driven by a rising adoption of Internet of Things (IoT) infrastructure, with artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning algorithms integration serving as a trend influencing growth.

Meanwhile, the market is challenged by data safety and security concerns, affecting its expansion.

“End-users, particularly hospitals and research institutions, prioritise reliable data storage. Whilst cloud-based storage is cost-effective and suitable for large data volumes, it poses security risks,” The report said.

Moreover, smaller institutions and laboratories are challenged by the need for high-speed internet and advanced information technology (IT) infrastructure.

“Collaboration and partnerships between industry players and research institutions are essential to address these challenges and drive innovation in digital pathology,” The report added.
