Global breathing circuits market to hit $2.16b by 2029

Its growth is attributed to an increase in surgical procedures and a rise in chronic diseases.

The global market for breathing circuits is projected to grow from $1.57b to $2.16b by 2029 at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 6.5%, said MarketsandMarkets.

The sector’s expansion is attributed to an increase in surgical procedures, a rise in chronic diseases, and advancements in respiratory support devices.

“Disposable breathing circuits are favoured for their infection control benefits and compliance with regulations,” the report said.

However, concerns about the high infection risk of reusable circuits and environmental issues with non-biodegradable disposables pose notable challenges.

Meanwhile, the adult patient segment dominated the market in 2023 due to the rising number of surgical procedures needing anaesthesia and respiratory care and the growing elderly population.
