Fortis Hospital launches dual-robot programme for kidney transplant
The surgical systems operate simultaneously for donors and recipients.
India’s Fortis Hospital, Bannerghatta Road, Bengaluru, has launched a Robot-Enabled and Assisted Transplant (TREAT) programme for kidney transplant.
The TREAT programme uses two robotic surgical systems operating at the same time—one dedicated to the donor and another to the recipient.
The approach aims to reduce surgical trauma, increase precision, and shorten recovery times for patients undergoing complex kidney transplant procedures.
The programme was launched by Ritu Garg, Chief Growth & Innovation Officer, Fortis Healthcare Ltd, Mohan Keshavamurthy, Principal Director – Renal Sciences, Fortis Hospitals, Bengaluru, and Akshay Oleti, VP & Business Head, Fortis Hospitals, Bengaluru.
