Cryoablation market to see sharp decline by 2026

This follows the rapid adoption of pulsed field ablation catheters.

The value of cryoablation catheters, which fell to $511.8m in 2024, is expected to decline by more than half by 2026, according to a GlobalData report.

This follows the rapid adoption of pulsed field ablation (PFA) in markets where regulatory approvals are already in place.

The PFA market reached $1.9b in 2024 and is forecast to exceed $5.7b during the forecast period.

PFA has gained notable traction in electrophysiology due to its shorter patient recovery times, reduced hospital stays, and quicker procedure durations compared with existing methods.

Moreover, the average cost of a cryoablation catheter is nearly the same as that of a PFA catheter, making it harder for hospitals and health systems to justify their use, said David Beauchamp, Medical Analyst at GlobalData.
