Construction underway on Laos’ first national university hospital
The 400-bed facility will comprise 28 clinical departments and specialised clinics.
Construction on Laos’ first national university hospital is now underway, Seoul National University Hospital (SNUH), which has been advising on the project, announced.
The University of Health Sciences (UHS) Hospital will be a 400-bed general facility comprising 28 clinical departments and specialised clinics. It is expected to open in 2028.
SNUH established the SNUH Consortium in 2021, comprising Myungsung Architects & Engineers, DA-IN Architects, Sangji Architects, the Korea Health Industry Development Institute, and KCA Co., Ltd., which signed a contract for the Laos National University Hospital Construction Consulting Project.
The Korean hospital is also supporting the establishment of a simulation centre for specialist training.
Once completed, the UHS Hospital will serve as the primary teaching hospital for the National University of Health Sciences.
