Construction begins on new Batemans Bay Community Health facility
It will include services like allied health and palliative care.
Construction is underway on the Batemans Bay Community Health facility, with Parliamentary Secretary for Health and Regional Health and Member for Bega, Dr Michael Holland, attending a sod-turning event to mark the development.
The $12.8m (A$20m) investment will see the creation of a purpose-built health facility that will include services like allied health, child, youth and family services, women’s health, sexual health, community nursing and wound management, and palliative care.
The facility will also include Aboriginal health, community mental health, drug and alcohol services, specialist outpatient clinics, and pathology.
Furthermore, it will include interview, consultation, and treatment rooms for various services, a gymnasium, and larger spaces that can accommodate groups and families or be used for education.
