Chinese Medicine Clinics to launch Winter Sanjiu Tianjiu Service in HK
The service will provide a half-price discount for elderly participants.
The Hospital Authority (HA) has announced that the Chinese Medicine Clinics cum Training and Research Centres across 18 districts in Hong Kong will launch the Winter Sanjiu Tianjiu Service.
The service will provide a half-price discount for elderly participants to raise awareness about the benefits of Chinese medicine in disease prevention.
About 30% of service recipients are elderly individuals aged 65 or above, said Rowena Wong, Chief Manager (Chinese Medicine) of the HA.
“The initiative aims to encourage the elderly to embrace a healthy lifestyle and improve their awareness of disease prevention,” Wong added.
Tianjiu therapy, which includes both the summer "Sanfu Tianjiu" and winter "Sanjiu Tianjiu" treatments, is based on traditional Chinese medicine principles of preventive care.
These therapies are scheduled according to the Chinese traditional calendar to optimise their therapeutic benefits.
