Changi General Hospital, SMRT to boost occupational health and safety

Key areas include injury prevention and chronic disease management.

Changi General Hospital (CGH) and SMRT Corporation (SMRT) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to enhance occupational health and safety for SMRT employees.

The partnership will leverage CGH’s expertise in occupational medicine to address the well-being needs of SMRT’s maturing workforce.

Key initiatives include research to identify health risks specific to transport workers and the development of interventions for injury prevention, mental health support, chronic disease management, and general wellness.

In the pipeline, the hospital will work with SMRT to review bus captains' shift schedules, work conditions, and health screening data, after which it will offer tailored recommendations and conduct educational sessions.
