The team used the da Vinci Xi system.

Burjeel Medical City has successfully performed the United Arab Emirates' first minimally invasive uniportal robotic lobectomy, according to a press release.

The procedure was performed on a 37-year-old patient with stage one lung cancer, who reported a persistent dry cough, which was identified as a possible early sign of underlying cancer.

The surgery, led by Taj Mohammed Fiyaz Chowdhry, a consultant thoracic surgeon, lasted about four hours.

He was accompanied by Nermeen Said Hassanin, consultant in anaesthesia, and Mr Renukesh, robotic surgery nurse specialist. The team used the da Vinci Xi system.
