Australia’s X-ray systems market eyes 4% CAGR growth until 2036
It accounted for 2% of the Asia Pacific market in 2024.
Australia’s X-ray systems market is expected to expand at a compound annual growth rate of 4% between 2024 and 2036, according to a GlobalData report.
The sector’s growth is attributed to the increasing adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) tools.
The country accounted for approximately 2% of the Asia Pacific market in 2024.
A recent development includes the AI approach to chest X-ray reporting from CSIRO’s Australian e-Health Research Centre.
“This can identify minor issues such as early-stage pneumonia, lung cancer, or tuberculosis, which might be missed during conventional readings,” said Prerna Gupta, Medical Devices Analyst at GlobalData.
Meanwhile, regulatory approvals from the Therapeutic Goods Administration enable faster integration of such solutions into clinical workflows.
“The growing confidence of clinicians in AI-assisted diagnostics, coupled with strategic investments from both the public and private sectors, is expected to accelerate adoption in the coming years,” Gupta added.
