Australian gov’t invests $196k for Aboriginal women’s health workforce

One-off grants of up to $3,268 (A$5,000) will be offered to ACCHO health clinicians.

The Australian government is set to provide $196,000 (A$300,000) to the Victorian Aboriginal Controlled Health Organisation to establish an Aboriginal women’s health workforce initiative.

The programme will offer one-off grants of up to $3,268 (A$5,000) for health clinicians employed by Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations (ACCHOs) to undertake training in women’s health.

Up to 50 clinicians across the ACCHO sector are expected to benefit from the scheme, which allows grants to be used flexibly to build their knowledge and skills in women’s health whilst also enhancing organisational capacity.
