Australian gov’t allocates $329k for Wyong Hospital facility upgrades
The funding will be used for two minor work projects at the establishment.
The Australian government in New South Wales has allocated approximately $329k (A$500k) to complete two minor works projects at Wyong Hospital.
The funding is being used for a sensory garden outside the facility’s acute geriatric ward and renovations at Louisiana House, the hospital's key worker accommodation.
The sensory garden, designed for dementia and Alzheimer’s patients, will feature raised garden beds, accessible paths, seating, and a nurse call system for safety measures.
It will also include simulated elements for high-dementia patients such as a simulated bus stop, mailbox, and clothesline.
Meanwhile, renovations at Louisiana House will include a new roof, upgraded bathroom and laundry facilities, and landscaping improvements.
