Australian government unveils Digital Health Blueprint
The blueprint outlines the investment on Australia’s digital capabilities.
The Australian Government has released the Digital Health Blueprint 2023–2033, outlining the ten-year vision of digital health capabilities for a stronger system for Australians.
The overall vision sums up as a “trusted, timely and accessible use of digital and data underpins a personalised and connected health and wellbeing experience for all Australians”.
The blueprint details a coordinated system for digital and data reforms that prioritises transparent access to health information for Australians, a solid database containing world-class healthcare professionals, and a responsive health system for new treatments and therapies.
Alongside the blueprint, the Australian Government has also arranged for talks about the investments for outcomes specified in the blueprint. The action plan will also be frequently updated to include updates on new technology and investments.

Currently, digital capabilities in the healthcare system have yet to reach its potential and accessibility for all Australians. To meet those goals, the blueprint lists priorities that can help shape the healthcare offerings to Australians: the ability for consumers to have “choice”, the care towards Australia’s health workforce, the protection of data and information, and the strengthening of modern digital foundations.
Through a long-term investment in digital health, Australia will be capable to support its long-term health reform priorities.
