Australia to launch new $465m hospital in Western Sydney
The hospital will have a 300-bed capacity.
Australia has revealed the first look at its $465m (AU$700m) Rouse Hill Hospital in Western Sydney.
Rouse Hill Hospital is set to have a 300-bed capacity with facilities including a day surgery unit, and an emergency and urgent care department.
Moreover, the hospital will offer outpatient and ambulatory care services including paediatrics, renal, maternity services and women's health.
“We are committed to providing an additional 600 hospital beds for Western Sydney and the new Rouse Hill Hospital will account for about half of this.” Minister for Health, Ryan Park, said.

“It’s vitally important this new facility is staffed with the right number of doctors, nurses, and allied health staff from the beginning. We’ll be integrating key worker accommodation and child care to support our highly skilled workforce in the years to come,” Park added.
The new hospital is part of the government’s $1.99b (A$3b) investment for new and upgraded hospitals and health services across greater western Sydney.
The hospital’s planning and design are underway with community feedback being considered.
