
Australia invests $90.5m in precision medicine for cancer
$71m (A$112.6m) will be allocated to support the ZERO Childhood Cancer programme.
The Australian government has announced a $90.5m (A$143.4m) investment to extend two precision medicine programmes aimed at improving cancer treatment for children and adults.
A total of $71m (A$112.6m) will be allocated to the Children’s Cancer Institute to support the ZERO Childhood Cancer programme.
The programme will be expanded to include young adults aged 19-25 with paediatric-type cancers.
Meanwhile, an additional $19.4m (A$30.8m) will be invested in Precision Oncology Screening Platform Enabling Clinical Trials (PrOSPeCT), Australia’s largest cancer genomics initiative.
