Australia invests $6.3m to build new Tasmania cancer wellness centre

It will be located opposite the Royal Hobart Hospital.

The Australian government has invested $6.3m (A$10m) over the next three years to fund stage one of the new Support Hope and Education (S.H.E) cancer wellness centre in Hobart, Tasmania.

According to Deputy Premier Guy Barnett, the centre will be located opposite the Royal Hobart Hospital and will provide psychosocial support, education, system navigation, and physical well-being services.

The facility will be developed and operated by the gynaecological cancer group S.H.E in collaboration with the University of Tasmania and the Peter MacCallum Cancer Group.
