Australia to introduce new Tom Price and Paraburdoo hospitals
The state government has engaged Cooper & Oxley under the ECI process.
The government in Western Australia is set to introduce new Tom Price and Paraburdoo hospitals, partnering with Rio Tinto for the upgrades.
The purpose-built facility at Tom Price will feature a modern emergency department, a four-bed inpatient ward, and dental and pathology services, along with consult rooms.
Moreover, it will house ambulatory care facilities for visiting specialists and community mental health services.
Meanwhile, the Paraburdoo redevelopment will take place at the existing hospital site and will include a new emergency department, integrated primary and community care services and space for an on-site private GP clinic.
The state government has engaged Cooper & Oxley under the Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) process to oversee both projects.
Under the ECI, the contractor will contribute to the design phase for the main works while initiating forward works on the Tom Price site.
