AR technology in healthcare to rise 36% CAGR through 2033

Its use in surgeries is linked to reduced complications and improved patient outcomes.

Augmented reality (AR) technology in healthcare is projected to register a cumulative annual growth rate of 36% through 2033, said GlobalData.

The report revealed that the tech holds great potential for expansion, despite its use in the sector still being in the early stages.

Its application in surgeries has been linked to reduced complications and improved patient outcomes by minimising intraoperative errors and enhancing safety through better visibility of the surgical area and associated risks.

Moreover, Elia Garcia, Medical Analyst at GlobalData, noted that the technology is capable of speeding up the surgical process through real-time data and visual assistance.

“Surgeons can access crucial information such as patient history, imaging results, and procedural recommendations without the need to switch between displays or reference physical documents,” Garcia said.
