The Alfred’s new imaging system shortens radiation therapy sessions
The technology supports real-time adjustments during treatment.
The Alfred in Australia has introduced the Hypersight on TrueBeam, an imaging system designed to shorten radiation therapy sessions for cancer patients.
According to the hospital, the technology supports real-time adjustments during treatment by allowing a larger area visualisation of the patient’s body.
“With this technology, therapists have the confidence to make faster decisions because they are working with more detailed information,” Hany Elsaleh, Director, Radiation Oncology at Alfred Health, said.
The enhanced imaging capabilities improve treatment precision, potentially reducing exposure to surrounding healthy tissue and minimising side effects.
