ADB OKs $50m loan for Armenia’s healthcare reform
The Health Care Quality Improvement Programme will be implemented from 2024 to 2028.
The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has approved a $50m results-based loan to support Armenia’s health sector reforms.
The Health Care Quality Improvement Programme will focus on improving inclusive, climate-responsive, and gender-sensitive healthcare facilities.
It will also support the construction or rehabilitation of 24 health facilities whilst incorporating climate and gender considerations into their design.
Furthermore, the programme includes the operationalisation of a quality management central unit to enhance institutional capacity for quality of care.
The programme will be implemented from 2024 to 2028, with support from a $2 million grant provided by the Japan Fund for Prosperous and Resilient Asia and the Pacific, funded by the Government of Japan.
