Abu Dhabi launches new integrated postnatal care initiative

The programme combines home visits, telemedicine, and outpatient services.

The Department of Health – Abu Dhabi has unveiled the Integrated Postnatal Care Programme under the Women’s and Children’s Health Strategy.

The programme combines home visits, telemedicine, and outpatient services.

Telemedicine sessions will be offered to mothers within the initial days after discharge to monitor their health, along with their infants.

Mothers can also schedule visits to their nearest hospital or primary care clinic between seven and 14 days after delivery, and again at six weeks postpartum

The programme also provides additional home visits for mothers who experienced complications during pregnancy or childbirth, as well as for newborns with health issues or special needs.
