
7MM endometriosis diagnosed prevalent cases to hit 2.8 million in 2034
Japan will have the lowest number of cases during the forecast period.
The diagnosed prevalent cases of endometriosis amongst women ages 12–54 years in the seven major markets (7MM) are expected to reach 2.8 million in 2034 at an annual growth rate of 0.09%, according to GlobalData.
Japan will have the lowest number of cases at 0.09 million amongst the 7MM, whereas the US will register the highest number of cases at 1.51 million during the forecast period.
In 2024, about 64% of diagnosed prevalent cases were laparoscopy-confirmed, whilst 36% were suspected cases.
Meanwhile, approximately 28% of diagnosed prevalent cases of endometriosis were in stage IV, whereas 22% of diagnosed prevalent cases of endometriosis were in stage I.
“In 2024, women ages 30–54 years accounted for almost 92% of the diagnosed prevalent cases of endometriosis in the 7MM,” said Antara Bhattacharya, Associate Project Manager, Epidemiology team at GlobalData.
“Younger women ages 12–29 years accounted for approximately 8% of the cases,” Bhattacharya added.
