Siloam Heart Hospital awarded Specialty Hospital of the Year (Cardiology) - Indonesia at Healthcare Asia Awards 2026
The hospital continues to improve outcomes, strengthen emergency networks, and manage over 13,000 cardiac cases annually.
Siloam Heart Hospital has been recognised at the Healthcare Asia Awards 2026, receiving the Specialty Hospital of the Year (Cardiology) - Indonesia award. This recognition highlights the hospital’s development as a dedicated cardiovascular centre providing advanced cardiac diagnosis, interventional procedures, and surgical care for patients across Indonesia.
Serving patients from across the country, the hospital has evolved into a national referral centre for cardiovascular care, managing an annual patient volume of more than 13,000 cases. Clinical services are supported by a multidisciplinary team of cardiovascular specialists who collaborate to manage complex heart conditions. This team-based approach enables coordinated treatment planning between cardiology and cardiac surgery teams, particularly for patients requiring advanced interventions.
What key clinical capabilities and advanced procedures have contributed to Siloam Heart Hospital receiving this recognition?
Procedural data reflects the hospital’s growing focus on higher-acuity cardiovascular services. Advanced procedures consistently increased to around 30% in 2025. These include complex percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), intravascular imaging using IVUS and FFR, electrophysiology studies, ablation procedures, structural intervention, including minimally invasive cardiac surgery (MICS). The hospital’s cardiac Cath Lab now performs more than 3,000 procedures annually, whilst coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery has achieved a 98.8% success rate higher than average Singapore’s reported rates.
How does multidisciplinary collaboration amongst specialists contribute to improving patient safety and treatment outcomes?
To ensure optimal patient outcomes, the hospital conducts weekly cardiology and cardiac surgery conferences to review clinical outcomes and align treatment strategies. Multidisciplinary discussions are also held for high-risk or complex cases, involving cardiologists, cardiothoracic surgeons, the medical committee, the ethics committee, and hospital management. These sessions evaluate treatment options and clinical risks prior to procedures.
How does Siloam Heart Hospital collaborate with regional healthcare institutions to strengthen emergency cardiac care?
Regional coordination for emergency cardiac treatment has also expanded through the DETAK programme (Depok Emergency Cardiac Network). The referral system connects four Hub-2 hospitals, 20 Hub-1 hospitals, and 45 spoke facilities, strengthening coordination for acute myocardial infarction cases. This network enhances triage processes and reduces delays in delivering primary PCI treatment in the golden period.
