The Medical City South Luzon clinches two wins at Healthcare Asia Awards 2024

It has recorded 14.32% growth in 2023 compared to its performance in the previous year.

Philippine hospital The Medical City (TMC) South Luzon took home wins in the major categories at the recently held Healthcare Asia Awards 2024 for recording strong revenue growth in 2023, as well as its inception of the Med Tech Week for the first time in recognition of its medical technologists. 

In the past year, TMC South Luzon garnered 14.32% growth YoY in gross revenue. This performance has been brought by new health units, technological innovations, and community involvement, amongst others.

TMC South Luzon launched and opened its Wellness and Lifestyle Centre in March 2023. From a centre only catering to executive check-ups, it evolved into a comprehensive wellness complex which houses several aesthetic and wellness units. It also extended its outpatient services through the Sunset Clinics of its physician which will cater to patients after office hours. 

The hospital also now has three fully-operational smart rooms for inpatients which showcase voice-controlled features and hotel-like interiors.

Meanwhile, TMC South Luzon was able to send 68% of its workforce to internal training and 40% to external training as part of its post-pandemic recovery plans for employees. Due to the excellent service they provided, the patient satisfaction rating also became consistent at 4.28/5 and the net promoter score was at 92%. Patient partners had also commended the hospital, which is featured in its social media accounts.

With this accomplishment, the hospital aimed to acknowledge the medical professionals who have contributed to the hospital’s operations. This includes medical technologists, whose numbers recently dwindled due to the implementation of the K-12 curriculum in the Philippines and the postponement of board examinations.

TMC South Luzon launched Med Tech Week as a celebration of their contributions to the industry. The programme kicked off with a mass blood donation, in partnership with Ayala Malls Solenad.

It also held a series of free webinars which covered different topics from specialities across the medical spectrum, including the latest pathways, limitations, and advanced technologies on laboratory tests. The event garnered over 335 attendees from 84 different institutions in the country. 

Moving forward, TMC South Luzon aims to include recognition of exemplary medical technologists and appreciation for partners in blood donations as part of this celebratory event.

For its strong performance in 2023, the hospital earned the Secondary Hospital of the Year - Philippines category win, whilst Med Tech Week won the Allied Health Initiative of the Year - Philippines.
