Mayapada Healthcare Group continues to be dedicated in becoming a patient-centric, high-performance organisation in the ever-evolving dynamics of healthcare.

Since the onset of the pandemic, the service hospital group has exhibited resilience and dedication by opening three new hospitals, contributing around 525 new beds to the healthcare infrastructure and 1,100 beds in its six-unit hospitals. The group also pioneered PCR testing in Indonesia, conducting over half a million tests.

Leveraging the power of social media, it gained over 485,000 Instagram followers and improved Google rates across its hospitals in the past year. Through this wide reach, Mayapada Healthcare Group disseminates valuable health information, engages with the community, and establishes itself as a trusted source of healthcare knowledge.

More importantly, the group achieved a remarkable threefold increase in revenue between 2018 and 2023, with a compound annual growth rate of 25.4% over the period, which reflects its strategic management, adaptability, and ability to provide quality healthcare services that resonate with the community. It has also recorded the highest revenue growth in the past year, exceeding 30% year-on-year.

Transformative journey on facilities improvement
The company’s strategic expansions and achievements have also bolstered Indonesia’s healthcare infrastructure. Amidst the challenges brought by the pandemic, it has provided meticulous facility upgrades that underscore its mission to be the preferred choice for quality healthcare services.

Amongst the upgrades it has made is the renovation of several Mayapada hospitals, which revamped its paediatric polyclinic, introduced an obstetrics, gastro-hepatology, gynaecology polyclinic, and restructured various areas for patient and doctor comfort. It also included the construction of new buildings, upgrades to facilities, and restructuring of critical areas.

Moreover, the hospital group has also upgraded and expanded its medical facilities. This includes the installation of a linear accelerator as well as the upgrade of cath lab facilities across hospitals and the extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy facilities to enhance the group’s urological services.

“These initiatives improved diagnostic and interventional procedures, environmental sustainability, and facilities upgrades, showcasing the group’s dedication to enhancing medical facilities for better patient outcomes,” the company said.

Mayapada Healthcare Group has also implemented rigorous safety measures to ensure the hospitals’ compliance with industry standards and enhance patient safety. The initiatives include upgrading fire safety protocols, improving medical gas storage and usage, as well as enhancing safety for handling hazardous materials like formalin.

The initiative shown by the hospital group in its facilities improvement exemplifies innovation and growth in the healthcare landscape.

Cultivating excellence in workforce transformation
In 2023, Mayapada Healthcare Group launched its “Deliver Better Care” programme, which adopts a multifaceted approach to workforce transformation, addressing key HR aspects that contribute to the organisation’s commitment to becoming a patient-centric organisation, aiming that the patients truly “Experience Better Care,” as promised in the company slogan.

Amongst these aspects is employee communications, wherein the company fostered open and transparent communication channels and ensured that employees are well-informed and engaged. Employees are provided with programmes supporting physical, mental, and emotional well-being.

As the group expanded, it also emphasised talent management and succession planning to ensure a skilled workforce and groom internal leaders. The company has prioritised robust assessments to identify essential skills and align those with career leaders for development.

At the same time, the company optimises resource utilisation by streamlining operations and implementing Lean Six Sigma methods for faster improvements. It also standardises structures and processes across all hospital units to ensure clarity, efficiency, and alignment with the goals of fostering a cohesive and synchronised workforce within the organisation.

Having been recognised amongst the top listed private healthcare players in Indonesia and enjoying respect and trust from stakeholders and the public, Mayapada Healthcare Group has been recognised by the Healthcare Asia Group as the recipient of the Hospital of the Year - Indonesia category win.

Its facilities improvement and workforce transformation initiatives also won the Facilities Improvement Initiative of the Year - Indonesia and the Workforce Transformation Initiative of the Year - Indonesia categories, respectively, in the awards programme.
