Klinik Yap & Partners Malaysia bags Primary Care Provider of the Year - Malaysia at Healthcare Asia Awards 2022
The group’s main goal has always been to extend its primary care services to the local communities.
In its mission to create an impact on patients' lives and to provide primary healthcare services and care for the well-being of the community, Klinik Yap & Partners (KYP) Malaysia has created a presence in Peninsular Malaysia.
Since 2018, KYP has aimed to serve the community with quality services at an affordable price. It has partnered with Hospital Sultanah Aminah of Johor and organized a successful blood donation drive. Free body checkups were also given to the local community to improve the rate of annual body checks and to promote the importance of self-checking.
The group was also amongst the first few to provide Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) tests to the local community. Its staff had to equip themselves with sufficient Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and accurate skills to ensure quality PCR was delivered to patients.
All medical personnel had received proper technical training before they proceeded with the set-up. To reduce contact and ensure safety, drive-through services were introduced. The team ensured convenience, accurate and proper practices to escalate the quality of its services.
When the news of the outbreak of COVID19 hit, KYP worked with PPE manufacturers such as Bergamot and Medicos to distribute essential equipment, including masks and hand sanitiser to local schools and foreign workers dormitories to promote proper hygiene practices. The group also contributed extensively to the vaccination rate in Malaysia.
KYP has also initiated campaigns to promote healthy living in the local communities. Fun and interesting activities such as Zumba and Kids Coloring Competitions were organised to involve local communities of different age groups in the campaign. It has managed to deliver medical knowledge through these activities. Local organisations such as Tzu Chi Malaysia joined the campaign as well.
Moreover, the group constantly provides updated and helpful medical information to local communities through its social media platform.
KYP also offers a practising ground for house officers who have completed their 2-year housemanship in General Hospital, to complete their two more years of medical officer housemanship under the guidance of experienced doctors. Trained doctors are then offered scholarships to pursue a specialisation in fields such as family medicine and occupational health.
The group’s commendable advocacy in the practice of healthcare has earned the recognition of Healthcare Asia Awards, as KYP brings home the Primary Care Provider of the Year - Malaysia award. The awards programme aims to honour hospitals, clinics and other healthcare providers that have risen above the challenges and made a remarkable impact on their patients amidst the massive disruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
