BIMC Hospital Nusa Dua, Bali honoured at Healthcare Asia Awards 2026

The hospital strengthened Indonesia’s medical tourism sector by providing specialised cosmetic surgery services and coordinated care for international patients.

BIMC Hospital Nusa Dua, Bali won the Medical Tourism Hospital of the Year - Indonesia category at the Healthcare Asia Awards 2026. The recognition highlights the hospital’s role in supporting Indonesia’s medical tourism industry through aesthetic surgery services and coordinated treatment pathways for international patients.

The hospital opened in 2012 in the Nusa Dua tourism district in Bali and is located within the Indonesia Tourism Development Corporation complex. It is part of the Siloam Hospitals network. Services are provided to residents and international patients travelling to Bali for treatment. The location places the facility within a major tourism area where accommodation, transport, and travel services are readily available.

Aesthetic and reconstructive procedures form a significant part of the hospital’s medical tourism activity. The CosMedic Centre provides surgical procedures such as facelifts, blepharoplasty, breast augmentation, and liposuction. Non-surgical treatments are also available, including dermal fillers, laser procedures, and thread lifts. Plastic surgeons trained in reconstructive and aesthetic surgery perform these procedures, including specialists affiliated with the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.

Procedure volumes have grown over the past several years. Hospital records show 77 cosmetic surgery procedures in 2021 and more than 1,000 procedures in 2025. Patients travelling from Australia and New Zealand account for a large proportion of international cases due to Bali’s geographical proximity to both countries. Consultation, surgery, and recovery services are provided within the same facility, supported by operating theatres and dedicated recovery rooms.

Clinical governance includes accreditation and regulatory compliance. The hospital became the first in Indonesia to receive accreditation from the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards International (ACHSI). This accreditation relates to operational procedures, infection control standards, and clinical protocols used in patient treatment.

Coordination with medical tourism facilitators and travel-related providers forms part of the hospital’s international patient services. These partnerships assist patients with consultations, accommodation arrangements, transport, and post-procedure recovery during their stay in Bali.
