Bayer snags top digital award at Healthcare Asia Pharma Awards for women’s health campaign

Its Bayer For Her campaign garnered a total of 692 million impressions in one year.

Bayer Pharmaceutical Division brought home the Digital Innovation of the Year - Singapore and the Marketing & Communications Initiative of the Year - Singapore category wins at the coveted Healthcare Asia Pharma Awards 2024 for its ‘Bayer For Her’ campaign, which aims to put forth an urgent call to action for women in Asia to share conversations about their own health issues.

The campaign, with creative input by Elmwood agency, provides a safe space for women to step forward by clicking on a QR code that leads to their local area where a physician or pharmacist can provide them with the right information and address their health concerns. 

First launched in Thailand in September 2022, Bayer For Her has now been rolled out to nine Asian countries with support from 18 local partners and non-governmental organisations. The company also worked with multiple family planning partners, hospitals, clinics, telehealth providers, and retail pharmacies.

Amongst the strategic tactics employed for this campaign include public educational events and pharmacy tie-ups in Thailand and Malaysia, free pop-up consultation clinics in the Philippines, cycling to form the shape of a uterus in Taipei city, anonymous survey and teleconsult in Singapore, and symptom checkers in India and South Korea. This platform also forged stronger bands with Indonesia’s National Population and Family Planning Board, and two memorandums of understanding signed in Vietnam hospitals.

The unprecedented success of this campaign prompted a regional press release to be distributed, coupled with local digital activation across social media sites such as Instagram, Meta, TikTok, and KakaoTalk. This generated an approximate total of 692 million impressions across traditional and social media.

At the same time, thousands of employees and healthcare professionals were engaged in the outreach, with the latter providing free consultations in some markets.
