Saudi health spending to climb 6.7% CAGR to $98.8b by 2030
Public funding will moderate as private investment accelerates.
Saudi Arabia’s total health expenditure is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 6.7% between 2025 and 2030, reaching $98.8b (SAR370.5b) by 2030, according to Fitch Solutions.
The medium-term growth outlook is maintained despite a planned reduction in public health expenditure in 2026, when the government will allocate $69.1b (SAR259b) to the health and social development sector, down from estimated actual spending of $71.8b (SAR269b) in 2025, Fitch Solutions said.
Fitch Solutions said public funding will remain the dominant source of healthcare spending, while private investment is expected to become increasingly dynamic, supported by regulatory reforms including streamlined licensing, unified procurement initiatives and an expanded framework for public-private partnerships.
Healthcare investment momentum will be reinforced by major government projects in 2026, including the construction of six new hospitals adding 1,100 beds, the modernisation of dialysis infrastructure with 750 additional machines, and the launch of the National Clinical Trials Portal, according to Fitch Solutions.
