Medical Taiwan 2026 closes with $168.7m in business opportunities

Demand was strong for AI-driven and digital healthcare solutions.

Medical Taiwan 2026 generated an estimated $168.7m in business opportunities through procurement meetings.

The three-day exhibition, organised by the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), attracted visitors from 63 countries, with Japan, Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines, and South Korea ranking as the top five source markets.

According to organisers, about 580 one-on-one procurement meetings were held during the exhibition between 107 international buyers from 46 countries and nearly 200 exhibitors.

Participating buyers came from markets including Japan, the United States, Germany, the United Kingdom, Australia, Brazil, Israel, Vietnam, Mexico, Egypt and Nigeria.

According to exhibitors, this year's event drew more international buyers than previous editions, with demand centered on AI-enabled healthcare, digital health technologies and advanced medical devices.

The "Taiwan Patent GO" pavilion, organized by the Intellectual Property Office (TIPO), showcased innovations in precision medicine, AI healthcare, and assistive technologies, attracting buyers from Singapore, Qatar, the United States, India, and Romania.

The "RX FOR FUTURE Forum" featured Professor Bruce Leff of Johns Hopkins University, founder of the Hospital-at-Home (HaH) model, alongside experts from Japan, Israel, and Australia. Speakers highlighted AI, telemedicine, and digital health as key technologies driving the future of home-based healthcare.

The Digital Healthcare Pavilion demonstrated Taiwan's integrated healthcare solutions and attracted buyers from Mexico, Chile, and the Australian Medical Software Industry Association.

Additionally, M-novator Demo Day connected startups with hospitals and investors, including Fubon Financial Holding, Biopro Biotech, and CDIB Capital, to accelerate healthcare innovation and commercialisation.

TAITRA said Medical Taiwan 2026 strengthened international collaboration across the healthcare supply chain and will continue to serve as a platform for smart healthcare innovation and global business partnerships.
