Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi deploys AI scientist to tackle prostate cancer
Aila wmerges as the world's first clinical AI scientist.
Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi has partnered with biotech company, Owkin, to deploy Aila, an artificial intelligence (AI) platform billed as the world's first clinical AI scientist.
The platform allows physicians to query large volumes of clinical data through a natural-language interface.
“Aila is built to reason across complex datasets, generate actionable medical findings, and learn continuously,” the company said.
The initial deployment targets prostate cancer, drawing on multiple data sources including electronic health records, physician notes, pathology reports, and medical imaging.
Built on Owkin's agentic platform purpose-built for biology, Aila is engineered to scale across additional medical specialities and more complex data types over time, including multi-omics and genomic data to support large-scale precision medicine programmes.
