IHH Healthcare clinches sustainable loan for antibiotic stewardship

The company is also aiming to strengthen the tracking of antibiotic follow-up reviews.

IHH Healthcare (IHH) has secured a US$196.16m (S$250m) loan from DBS, aiming to advance responsible antibiotic use.

According to a press release, this is the first use case in which sustainable financing has been linked to strengthening antibiotic stewardship.

In line with this, IHH is also aiming to strengthen the tracking of antibiotic follow-up reviews within 72 hours of starting treatment to assess whether it should be continued or adjusted.

Currently, antibiotic compliance rates are not consistently tracked across the healthcare sector.
