Australian gov’t allocates $970,000 to sustain cohealth GP services

The funding extends the services until 31 July 2026.

The Australian Government will provide approximately $970,000 (A$1.5m) to maintain cohealth’s general practice services until 31 July 2026.

The announcement follows a decision by cohealth to defer the closure of three general practice services in Melbourne until February next year. Services will remain open whilst a long-term operating model is considered.

The Australian and Victorian governments will commission an independent review examining cohealth’s service model, governance and financial position.

A$1 = $0.65
