NSW Health Pathology takes over services at Hawkesbury District Hospital

Pathology services at Hawkesbury District Hospital have transitioned to NSW Health Pathology (NSWHP), according to the Australian Government.

Key services include on-site core chemistry, haematology, transfusion and central specimen reception, inpatient pathology, and outpatient collection.

Specialised services will be provided from NSWHP’s Nepean Laboratory, which will serve as the main referral site supporting Hawkesbury District Hospital.

Community members with a pathology request form from their general practitioner can avail the service, with all eligibility tests bulk billed.

Meanwhile, NSWHP collection staff will continue to service inpatients throughout the hospital.
