New healthy ageing clinic opens in Brisbane's Northside
The facility offers cognitive and functional assessments and restorative care.
A new clinic has been launched in Brisbane’s northside to provide care for elders aged 50 and over in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Healthy Ageing Clinic (HAC) provides specialist geriatric services, such as cognitive and functional assessments, restorative care, dementia diagnosis and management, fall risk assessments, and medication reviews.
HAC operates every Tuesday from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm, alternating weekly between the MATSICHS Caboolture and Strathpine locations.
Access to the clinic requires a referral from a general practitioner to Metro North Hospital and Health Geriatric Services.
Meanwhile, immediate family members of eligible patients can also access the service.
