Australia to begin construction of new regional hospital in June

The $173.4m (A$260m) facility is set to deliver healthcare services for the Eurobodalla Shire community.

Australia has announced that construction of the new Eurobodalla Regional Hospital is expected to start in June.

The $173.4m (A$260m) hospital is set to deliver healthcare services for the Eurobodalla Shire community in New South Wales (NSW).

The level four facility will feature an eight-bed Intensive Care Unit (ICU), a new Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) service, ambulatory care for community outpatient services, and education and training facilities amongst others.

“This is a major milestone for the project, paving the way for the new hospital to be built, following the appointment of a main works contractor,” Minister for Planning and Public Spaces, Paul Scully, said.

“Feedback from staff, clinicians, patients, stakeholders and the community has informed the planning and design of the new hospital, which will deliver world-class and contemporary care for Eurobodalla and surrounding communities,” Scully added.
