Abu Dhabi to launch new AI academy for health workforce boost

The academy will develop an AI-trained workforce for advanced diagnostic and operational efficiency.

Abu Dhabi will launch an artificial intelligence (AI) healthcare academy for the health workforce.

Through a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Abu Dhabi’s Department of Health (DoH), Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (MBZUAI), and Core42, the academy is set to build an AI-trained workforce to advance diagnostic and operational efficiency.

Moreover, the initiative aims to enhance patient care whilst streamlining healthcare processes.

The academy will focus on research whilst encouraging collaborations to secure funding and ensure ongoing stability through MBZUAI’s Institute of Digital Public Health.

"Healthcare is a key research pillar for MBZUAI because we recognise the transformative and life-saving potential of AI across a wide range of diagnostic and treatment areas.” Sultan Al Hajji, Vice President of Public Affairs and Alumni Relations at MBZUAI, said.

“In addition to our recent effort in establishing the Institute of Digital Public Health, we are proud to partner with The Department of Health – Abu Dhabi in launching the new AI Healthcare Academy.” Al Hajji added.
