Wyong Hospital completes stage 3 of $131.5m redevelopment
The expanded Wyong Cancer Centre is now operational.
The Australian Government has completed construction works on the final stage of the $131.5m (A$200m) Wyong Hospital redevelopment in New South Wales.
Stage 3 of the project includes expanded and new health facilities, such as the Wyong Cancer Centre, a new women’s outpatient service, an enlarged pathology laboratory, a dedicated space for the Nunyara Aboriginal Health unit, and a dedicated carer support unit.
The expanded cancer centre features eight new consultation rooms and offers services such as chemotherapy administration and specialist consultations.
The new women’s outpatients service includes purpose-built facilities for pregnancy clinics, with additional services such as an early pregnancy assessment service, a day assessment unit, and expanded high-risk pregnancy outpatient care.
Furthermore, more gynaecological procedures will be introduced from 2026.
The redevelopment also features a new medical workspace to support clinical teams with modern offices and collaborative areas.
Major construction is complete, with commissioning activities ongoing.
The cancer centre, women’s outpatients, and pathology laboratory are already operational, whilst the remaining services will be introduced in stages starting next year.
