World Bank OKs $250m for Türkiye’s public health emergency preparedness
The funding will support improvements in capacity to detect and respond to health crises.
The World Bank has approved $250m in financing to enhance Türkiye’s readiness for public health emergencies.
The “Türkiye Preparedness for Public Health Emergencies Project: will focus on improving the capacity to detect and respond to health crises, including funding for equipment and technical assistance to support vaccine production.
Moreover, strengthened emergency response capabilities are expected to curb the spread of infectious diseases and mitigate broader health risks.
“Emergency preparedness will cover public health risks stemming from a range of sources, given the country’s susceptibility to risks from infectious diseases, climate change and natural disasters,” the bank said.
