Over half of APAC healthcare providers to boost patient app spending
Investments in tech-enabled integrated care initiatives are expected to grow by 55% in 2026.
More than half (50%) of healthcare providers in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region are set to increase their spending on patient engagement apps this year.
A report by IDC revealed that the hospital-at-home (H@H) care shift is gaining momentum in the region driven by an evolving ecosystem, pilot initiatives, and a focus on tech investments.
In line with this, investments in tech-enabled integrated care initiatives are projected to grow by 55% in 2026 to address concerns on patient safety, workforce, and care access.

Meanwhile, senior research manager of IDC Health Insights APAC, Manoj Vallikkat, reiterated that H@H programmes must be supported through an enhanced digital infrastructure to reach its full potential.
“By merging hospital-at-home programs with clinical data intelligence, healthcare providers can promise more efficient, and seamless personalized care management," Vallikkat said.
