NHG, LKCMedicine launch programmes addressing high-demand Asian health issues
New medical programs target infectious threats to shore up AHS
Singapore’s National Healthcare Group (NHG Health) and the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (LKCMedicine) have added four Academic Clinical Programmes (ACPs) under their joint Academic Health System (AHS), to focus on four key areas.
The new ACPs will hone in on infectious diseases, family medicine, respiratory health, and gastrointestinal health, seen in clinical areas with sustained demand in the Asian region.
Infectious and respiratory diseases remain key concerns following the COVID-19 pandemic, whilst family medicine continues to underpin primary and community-based care.
Gastrointestinal conditions also account for a significant share of inpatient and outpatient services across the region.
The ACPs aim to further organise speciality-based collaboration between clinicians, researchers, and educators across NHG Health institutions and Nanyang Technological University Singapore, according to their press statement.
The four ACPs build on two earlier programmes in skin health and rehabilitation health, launched in 2025.
