New healthcare worker accommodation delivered to Leeton District Hospital
The units are expected to be ready for occupancy by early next year.
The Australian government in New South Wales has announced the arrival of self-contained accommodation units at Leeton District Hospital, as part of its $28.9m “Key Worker Accommodation” (KWA) Programme.
Three modular units, installed on the hospital’s site at the corner of Wade Avenue, aim to support healthcare staff requiring short- to long-term housing.
The prefabricated units were built off-site, following the KWA Programme prototype unit completed earlier this year.
Each fully furnished unit includes a screened veranda, a light-filled living and dining area, a modern kitchen, a bedroom with an ensuite bathroom, and an internal laundry.
Meanwhile, utility connections, fencing, landscaping, and furnishing, are underway. The units are expected to be ready for occupancy by early next year.
