Hoan My partners with Abbott Vietnam for enhanced brain trauma screening
The collaboration will also focus on cardiovascular diseases and diabetes.
Private healthcare network, Hoan My Medical Group has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Abbott Vietnam to develop a programme aimed at improving the screening and treatment of traumatic brain injuries.
Through the partnership, the Alinity i mTBI test will be deployed to assist doctors in assessing brain damage in patients with suspected mild traumatic brain injury.
This initiative aims to reduce the rate of unnecessary computed tomography (CT) scans for more timely treatment decisions and optimised patient care.
Furthermore, the collaboration expands towards improved prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of cardiovascular diseases and diabetes.
Both organisations will implement a cardiac risk stratification programme using the High Sensitivity Troponin-I RS blood test for more accurate diagnosis and risk prediction of future cardiac events, such as myocardial infarction, commonly known as a heart attack.
Meanwhile, patients with diabetes will be offered services focused on cardiovascular risk management, early detection, and diabetic retinopathy treatment.
In addition, Hoan My and Abbott aim to deploy an artificial intelligence (AI)-drive clinical decision support (CDS) system for improved clinical management.
The system will also contribute to better health screening processes by categorising patients based on data analysis and risk assessment algorithms.
