Fortis Nagarbhavi unveils Mako technology for knee joint replacements

The robotic system combines CT-based 3D modelling and AI-enabled surgical planning.

India’s Fortis Hospital, Nagarbhavi, has launched the Mako Robotic System for knee joint replacements.

The system combines CT-based 3D modelling, artificial intelligence-enabled surgical planning, and haptic-guided robotic-arm assistance.

The decision to adopt the Mako system was influenced by its predictability and precision, according to Dr Manjunath Kodihalli, Senior Consultant – Orthopaedic Surgery at Fortis Hospital, Nagarbhavi.

“This precision translates into reduced post-operative pain, faster recovery, improved functional outcomes, and long-term joint stability,” Kodihalli added.
