Apollo Hospitals expands India footprint with 200-bed facility
This comes amidst a rise in non-communicable disease cases.
Apollo Hospitals has opened a 200-bed speciality hospital in Sheshadripuram, Bangalore, its fourth facility in Karnataka, to expand access to care for patients with non-communicable diseases (NCDs).
Built across 2 acres, it will focus on five specialities—cardiac sciences, neurosciences, orthopaedics, medical and surgical gastroenterology, and general and laparoscopic surgery.
Naresh Parmar, CEO of Apollo Hospitals for the Karnataka Region, said the group sees approximately 1,200 cases every month amongst patients aged between 30 and 40 years.
"The primary focus of the Apollo Hospital, Sheshadripuram, would be to tackle NCDs that have witnessed a rapid increase in the number of cases in recent years," he said.
Prathap C. Reddy, Chairman and Founder of Apollo Hospitals, who launched the group's first hospital in Chennai 33 years ago, said the expansion was a direct response to the rapid rise of NCDs.
