Amazon Web Services Healthcare Accelerator calls for fresh applicants
The deadline for applications is 1 July.
Amazon Web Services (AWS), a subsidiary of the multinational giant Amazon, has announced the reopening of its AWS Healthcare Accelerator on health equity.
“To help tackle health disparities, we’re announcing our next AWS Healthcare Accelerator cohort—this time with a focus on health equity. The Accelerator is one more way we are harnessing the power of the cloud to make access to health equitable, and builds on other efforts we’ve launched in this area,” said Max Peterson, AWS Vice President of Worldwide Public Sector, during the AWS Summit on 24 May.
The Accelerator will support 10 startups that can come from anywhere in the globe, as long as they have US-based operations, through a four-week technical, business and mentorship programme.
Interest startups should be focused on one or more of the following areas: increasing access to health services; reducing disparities by addressing social determinants of health; leveraging data to promote equitable and inclusive systems of care.
Accepted startups can benefit from up to $25,000 AWS promotional credits, connections to venture capital firms within AWS’ innovation network, potential collaborations with other AWS healthcare customers and partners, specialised AWS training and mentoring, business development guidance, fundraising from AWS, and go-to-market planning.
The deadline for applications is 1 July 2022. The programme will be delivered in collaboration with KidsX.
