AI to enhance cardiovascular diagnostics amidst worker shortage
A heart ultrasound may take up to 90 minutes and requires expert interpretation.
The adoption of AI-powered image analysis software in echocardiography is expected to improve the efficiency and accuracy of cardiovascular disease (CVD) diagnostics, said GlobalData.
“The integration of AI into echocardiography systems is set to improve clinical workflows, minimize diagnostic errors, and ultimately save lives,” said Elia Garcia, Medical Analyst at GlobalData.
The integration addresses a shortage of trained sonographers, whose availability remains limited in many regions.
An echocardiogram examination takes between 40 and 90 minutes, requiring a highly skilled professional to interpret the results.
