New A1Health-MediExpress partnership streamlines patient care across 21 hospitals

It will focuses on improving access to private healthcare.

Asia OneHealthcare (A1Health) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with MediExpress (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, becoming the first hospital group to partner with MediExpress under its managed healthcare network.

The partnership will see MediExpress serve as a managed care partner across A1Health’s network of 21 hospitals, including 12 Columbia Asia Hospitals, Subang Jaya Medical Centre, Ara Damansara Medical Centre, ParkCity Medical Centre, and Bukit Tinggi Medical Centre, as well as five super-specialty hospitals – ALTY Orthopaedic Hospital, Beacon Hospital, Cardiac Vascular Sentral Kuala Lumpur (CVSKL), PICASO Hospital, and Northern Heart Hospital Penang.

Under the agreement, the collaboration will focus on improving access to private healthcare, enhancing care coordination, and supporting sustainable healthcare financing. Patients and MediExpress members are expected to benefit from clearer care pathways, streamlined administrative processes, and a more coordinated patient experience across participating A1Health hospitals.

Additionally, the partneship also emphasises preventive healthcare and long-term health management. MediExpress members will have access to A1Health’s Health Transformation Programme at selected hospitals, supporting early risk identification, lifestyle modification, and sustained health improvement.

The MoU was signed at Columbia Asia Hospital Batu Kawan, Penang, coinciding with A1Health’s 30th anniversary of Columbia Asia Hospitals and the opening of its newest facility.
