Dr Reddy’s Laboratories, Scientimed Solutions wins Marketing & Communications Initiative of the Year - India at the Healthcare Asia Pharma Awards

They were recognised for their marketing initiatives related to their Fever Day Campaign.

Fever is one of the key symptoms related to significant mortality and morbidity among people in India. It can be an indicator of a spectrum of diseases, including malaria, dengue, typhoid, and organ failure. However, there continues to be a lack of awareness about the importance of early diagnosis and appropriate treatment for fever-related illnesses.

Given this, Dr Reddy’s Laboratories and Scientimed Solutions worked on launching the Fever Day Campaign to enhance awareness of the importance of fever management. Doctors across India have pledged to conduct patient awareness camps during the month of May, which we believe will aid in the timely diagnosis and management of fever and its related conditions.

For this campaign, Asia’s tallest thermometer structure was created and installed at Phalodi, Rajasthan – one of the hottest places in India. The structure, which was inaugurated on May 19, 2022, and also entered the Asia Book of Records.

The Fever Day logo was then inaugurated by the Association of Physicians of India (API), followed by the launch of Fever Day during a nationwide webinar on May 24, 2022. This day marks the birth anniversary of Gabriel Fahrenheit the inventor of the mercury thermometer. The event was attended by more than 10,000 doctors, and the launch was led by API President Dr. Shyam Sundar.

Fever Day Camps were rolled out in more than 50,000 clinics across India as part of this campaign. These efforts were commended by Mr Ravi Kumar, Group Product Manager of the NISE Brand Team of Dr Reddy’s Laboratories, who reiterated the importance of making a differential diagnosis while treating fever. He also noted that the campaign involved fever management education for more than 50,000 doctors, particularly primary care physicians, who mostly deal with treating fever in India.

Other commended efforts from the campaign included coverage in national news channels, in-clinic activities, and distribution to clinics of patient awareness posters created by India's National Centre for Vector Borne Disease Control which eventually resulted in a massive pan-India impact touching the lives of millions of patients.

For these achievements, Dr Reddy’s Laboratories and Scientimed Solutions Pvt Ltd were awarded the Marketing & Communications Initiative of the Year - India award at the recently concluded Healthcare Asia Awards 2023. The Healthcare Asia Pharma Awards aims to honour hospitals, clinics, and other healthcare providers that have risen above challenges and made a remarkable impact by innovating and reinventing initiatives to better serve patients and protect employees.
