Saudi healthcare research centre to combat diabetic retinopathy in new partnership
The collaboration will focus on preventive solutions, workshops, and public awareness.
King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre (KFSHRC) has signed a strategic partnership with the Madinah Diabetes Charity Association, 'Sukar,' to advance the early detection and treatment of diabetic complications, particularly diabetic retinopathy.
KFSHRC will manage the treatment of the vision-threatening disease in Saudi Arabia, where 18% of the population is affected by diabetes.
The collaboration will deliver preventive solutions, including specialised healthcare services in line with top medical standards.
It will also focus on organising workshops and training for medical and technical teams, as well as raising public awareness about the risks of diabetes and its complications.
